Hi there and thanks for stopping by PlaidMouth, a community dedicated to Blues Saraceno gear, media, and most of all you, the fans.
As an avid Saraceno fan and gear junkie, I found it frustrating when trying to research, track or admire some of Blues’ infamous gear, such as his coveted original Dirty Boy Amp, or the righteous Yamaha RGZ820R that bears his signature “Watermelon Plaid”. A few Google searches for each term would produce varied results from forums, but there was no cohesion between the communities. After the purchase of my original “Dirty Boy” amp (a search and purchase 12+ years in the making), I decided it was time to build a site that would honor both Blues Saraceno gear and the fans that rock it.
PlaidMouth.com features the first high-resolution, high-quality images of selected Blues gear found online, and encourages you to submit your gear pics and stories, as well.
Own a plaided-out Samick you want to show off to the world? Have a Dirty Boy Afro Fuzz pedal that just rocks your socks off? Possess the earth-shattering behemoth that is the Dirty Boy – original or Mojave reissue? Want to show us how your Seymour Duncan PATB-3′s sound in your Les Paul? I’d love for you to show off your Saraceno gear, pictures and chops right here. Click here to get in touch and submit your goodies – fellow fans will appreciate your contribution and it’s high-time your gear gets the recognition it deserves.
Even if you’re closets aren’t bursting with Blues gear, I’d love for you to stay in touch and help grow the site. Throw a bookmark on us and come back whenever you have a Blues itch. You can also follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our YouTube channel if you’d like to stay updated on future posts and media.
Thanks again for stopping by PlaidMouth.com and I hope to hear from you soon – long live all things plaid!

A friend of the site stumbled upon this beautiful Yamaha RGZ820R while browsing eBay. The guitar features the ever-signature “Watermelon Plaid” color, lime green fret dots, and Floyd-licensed tremelo. As always, I am not personally selling this guitar – I only do my best to find and promote Saraceno-owned and inspired gear when possible. If [...]

Now here’s something you don’t see every day! Plaidmouth’s newest fan & family member, Wayne, share some killer before & after pictures of his project Samick TV Twenty. What started off as a “Grapesicle” color (otherwise referred to appropriately-albeit-less-rockstarishly as “Purple Burst”) has now been transformed into a bare-wood beauty. The Bold Move to Take [...]

I don’t get around to posting much on the site, as I don’t have the time I used to for longer or more content-rich posts, but one thing I shouldn’t do is let a Plaidhead miss an opportunity to buy a Saraceno-inspired guitar of their own. I’ll try and do a better job of compiling [...]

I just got an email from our good friend and fan X-Mann who, unfortunately, is finding himself in the position of needing to sell one of his many (and most excellent) Samick guitars. He gives all of his guitars the “X-Mann” treatment, which basically takes these guitars from awesome to ridiculously awesome, which inandofitself is [...]

Every year for the past five years I have had the absurd luck and privilege to attend the NAMM show, otherwise known as the “National Association of Music Merchants.” If you’re a musician and/or a gear junkie, basically take your idea of heaven, and turn it up to 11. (huge/mad/crazy props to Anvil Cases for extending an [...]

Every now and then I come across something that I absolutely must own. Okay, that sounds pretty greedy/capitalistic, but let’s just say that it’s instances like these that keep me motivated to work hard and make’a the money. If a Watermelon Plaid Yamaha and Blues’ own amp isn’t enough to motivate you, what is? Enter, [...]

Just a quick post for all my peeps looking to buy their own plaid Yamaha RGZ820R electric guitar. These don’t pop up for sale on Craigslist or eBay very often so now’s your time to get in on your own RGZ820R! This one is located in State College, Pennsylvania The seller does not specify whether [...]

I’ve never really “gotten into” the Samick models that Blues has endorsed over the years, but after meeting a particular Samick n’ Saraceno superfan a few week back I think that I -myself- have been stricken with the fever for one of his signature TV20s. The Samick Sensei Enter X-Mann, arguably the most enthusiastic and encouraging [...]

My brother stumbled upon a crazy “purple burst” Samick TV Twenty on craiglist the other day – just had to share it with my PlaidMouth brethren (feel free to share listings or gear by clicking here) The guitar is located in Edgerton, Wisconsin – approximately 40 minutes from Madison and 2.5 hours from Chicago. The seller’s [...]

I had the liberty of meeting Blues Saraceno at both the 2009 and recent 2011 NAMM convention. Held in Anaheim, California (in a giant convention center right across the street from Disneyland) NAMM is the proverbial Mecca for all things music. An aptly-named acronym for National Association of Music Merchants, the convention is essentially a [...]
